Although I was far too young to remember the actual event of the attack on the Twin Towers on September 11 in detail, I can still recall a feeling of despair in the room I was in at that point. In 2001, I was about 4 and a half years old the exact date of the attack. Most of what I remember from that day was fuzzy, but at the time I was in my preschool classroom. It was like any other day for me, but suddenly the teacher told us to stop whatever we were doing and gather around the TV. The majority of what I remember includes two buildings on the screen. There were two trails of smoke billowing out of each one. The teacher explained to us that this was a very terrible thing that happened, and was was caused by very bad people. Probably many good people were going to be gone. My young mind was too primitive to understand what was happening, but now, I'm able to figure it out and understand. I personally believe that 9/11 was a very horrendous thing that happened to our country. Why someone would be so twisted that they choose to attack two buildings full of innocent civilians is beyond me. If Osama bin Laden wanted to attack someone, which I wish he wouldn't in the first place, let it be those who are attacking him, not those who have nothing to do with it. I agree with the course of action that was taken by the U.S., maybe not in the exact way we did it, but an intervention was necessary. 9/11 was a tragic event in our nation's history, and that date along with all of those who lost their lives deserve to be remembered for years to come.
